I loved my OSU Buckeyes, but never really sweated recruiting. All I knew is that the Buckeyes loaded up on good players every year, either squandering their skills (Cooper) or something weaving them together into a cohesive unit (Tressel).

For the uninitiated, LOI day means "Letter of Intent", or "signing day" when high school recruits have to declare which school they will attend. This year, it falls on February 6th.

And the associated web traffic makes the OBR's biggest day of the year, draft day, look like a Saturday afternoon in early June. It's insane.

The biggest name up for grabs this year is the #1 recruit as ranked by Scout.com, QB Terrelle Pryor of Jeannette,Pa., and he's spending a lot of time thinking about both Michigan and Ohio State.

Pryor just spent the weekend up in Michigan getting feted by the School Up North, and couldn't seem more blasé about the experience.

“We went to the basketball game and the fans were all cheering my name and everything like they have at the other schools,” he told Scout's Bob Lichtenfels.

While Pryor seems non-plussed and appears to be enjoying himself, the frenzy around his selection process couldn't be crazier. The Detroit Free Press covered his visit to Ann Arbor as if Pryor were the Pope, and there have been breathless daily updates based on the least of Pryor's remarks.

The latest: Penn State isn't entirely out of it. Pitt's attempt to get Pryor disappeared when their head coach headed to other climes.

If you want to catch up with the weirdness, here are some recent articles. Keep in mind that anyone with an OBR subscription can get into all of Scout's premium recruiting articles:

Scout.com: Terrelle Pryor Profile - BuckeyeSports.com

Pryor Back from Michigan - BuckeyeSports.com

No Rest For The Weary - BuckeyeSports.com

Terrelle Pryor's high school coach: Recruit enjoyed U-M visit - Free Press

Pryor enjoys official visit to Michigan - Sports Illustrated

Terrelle Pryor story is a big deal - Free Press

Should Terrelle Pryor go to U-M or Ohio State? - Free Press

OHIO COLUMNIST: Here's why Terrelle Pryor should go to Ohio State - Free Press

Terrelle Pryor official visit live blog - Michigan Daily

Pryor would be 'icing on the icing on the cake' for OSU - Michigan Live

COULD NO. 1 RECRUIT TERRELLE PRYOR BE A BUST? - Free Press

Blogging on the Munilot

Hello!

The first step to setting a blog in the Munilot is to register an account. The second is to convince me that you've got game.

The stuff below is the third step.

This blog is specifically for new bloggers on the OBR's Munilot. And you know who you are.

We've upgraded our software and really have enabled some kick-ass capabilities. The preferred tool for blogging on the Munilot is a free application from Microsoft called "Windows Live Writer". If you're a Mac user, you can probably find something very similar to it, and adapt these instructions.

Here's how to set up Live Writer to blog on the Muni Lot.

1. Download Live Writer

A. Go to http://get.live.com/writer/overview and click the "Get It Free" button. Try not to be mesmerized by the faces of our younger generation on the web page, since you're much older, less attractive, and boring. Suicide is not an option if you're going to blog here.

B. Save the Live Writer installer file to your PC

C. Double-click that file you just downloaded and follow the instructions from your Lord High Master, Bill Gates. Do as you are told. I'd still un-check all the "Customize and Begin Installation" options, lest Bill and his cronies take over your entire PC and download your bank accounts.

D. It's a painless process. After it's done, you should see the following appear:

2. CONFIGURE YOUR MUNILOT BLOG

Start up Live Writer. You should immediately be greeted with a screen that helps you set up your first blog. Any subsequent blogs you set up can be added from the "Weblogs" menu in the same way.

A. Select type of blog service, a screen that's intended to steer users to Microsoft's blogs. But we don't play dat. Pick "Another weblog service" and and click "Next".

B. On the next screen, type in the URL of your blog (which should look something like the one below) and the username and password you selected when you registered. Click "Next"CX

C. Wait patiently while Live Writer sniffs out the details of the Munilot blog. It will take a while and get everything ready automatically. After a few seconds, you may get a window like this. If you do, click "Yes".

D. The set up will churn for another few seconds and then give you the following screen. At this point, your blog is set up. Click "FINISH" and exit.

You can now blog on the Muni Lot... it will be amazingly easy. An intro on how to blog with Live Writer and some tricks we've learned are going to be covered in the next article.

AP: Browns acquire center from Bears

The Cleveland Browns, who have had problems at center all training camp, acquired center Lennie Friedman from the Chicago Bears on Thursday for a 2007 conditional draft choice. The Giants have swooped in and signed Arrington to a seven-year, $49 million deal, proving once more that the Poston brothers have more patience than NFL franchises.

Arrington said upon leaving the Redskins that he wanted to stay in the NFC East for reasons of his own. He also said he wanted $18 million guaranteed, but we don’t know if he got that part of it yet.

Arrington paid the Redskins $4.4 million last month to buy his way out of his contract. It looks like a good investment for Arrington at this point.
