But lets look at how everyone "rated" DA back at the onset of the preseason. He has a rocket for an arm, cant make a touch pass work for his life, and as most young and ave. QBs do he runns hot and cold on his reads (sometimes looks like a genious threading the needle and other times that triple coverage takes that needle for 6). Has that changed... not really, but now we see that he is infact capable of leading the team and making the pocket work around him.

Honestly i can say i was one of the few in cleveland that felt anderson was our choice at week one and not week two. But i mention this just to show that im not a anderson hater. Quite the opposite in fact, im fully behind him... just don't think he'll mature fast enough to last through the usual cleveland barage of media coverage and player hatting. But the fact is he was our choice then because the choice was simple, Fry was worth the 6th round pick and personally DA was prob. worth the 3rd.

Fry looked like a younger version of what Garcia ended up being in his short stint here in cleveland. He never trusted the line around him (Garcia prob. had a good reason for that) and wanted nothing more than to scramble and make the play himself, either by his arm or by his legs. Fry was much the same but for different reasons. While Garcia was used to a sounder Oline fry was just used to getting his can planted in the grass often. That plus garcia's arm was strong enough to throw on the run and had the esperiance to make the decisions on the fly. While FRY proved he had little arm strength and even less ability to decide under presure.

--so in short fry was worthless and going into the preseason was still viewed as the bigger commodit and thus worth more in draft value--

So back to DA.... do i feel he is overrated... no, he has proven to be just what we heard about him back in the preseason possition battle. All of the physical atributes have proven true. So rated no but hyped yes.. I do think DA is vastly over-HYPED. and honestly this is the exact reason i feel if we can get a sucker to bite on a first and a third round pick (inlight of not having one this year anyways) we take it. Yes DA MIGHT end up being the nest T.Romo, and Yes DA might win future Pro Bowl honors. But how much is him and how much is the tools he has been given. He had both his WR and TE go P Bowl and two linemen.

my person view is this, in additon to the buy low and sell high mentality i was mentioning above look at it this way. brady is the face of the browns right now. his jerseys sell everywhere and NO franchise is gonna part with that. And there is NO chance Brady is gonna be willing to sit the pine and watch DA take the glory. We already know BQ is strong (that is if you watched him in the combine pound out the bench) and we know he has been not only groomed but also givein the stamp of approval from the royalty that is the new ND coaching (but of course you want the first QB product out of your new program to be sold as nothing more than 5star... that is if you want to land the next 5star to hit the turf). But not only is is groomed but his appears poised under pressure (yeah yeah he was playin agains 3rd stringers). All in all i don't see DA keepin the job for long and lookin at his young age and upside with the fact that he wants big $$$ it all points to buh bye DA.

so overrated... no but overhyped yes... and while i don't take to hype often, if the hype means some fool decides to give up a one and a three then take the picks and hope they land us some D

Brady Quinn is going to play a "Slash" role this year. Yeah. I just made that up so... tell someone and see if it gets back to you. It's the off-season, together we can........

Keep DA in Cleveland.

or not

And as for how the rats will keep Suggs, they'll restructure contracts and move money around. Just like every team does this time of year to keep a star player when they are up against the cap.

I hope they are forced to cut a key player or two.

Either way, this is the guy I would throw a ton of money at in the market. The premeire D-Lineman won't likely be available so why not secure that other OLB spot? He can also be a rush lineman on 2nd or 3rd and long situations which would free up #95 considerably.

I dont know how Savage is going to do this with most difference makers going to be franchised the way it looks now.But if we could get Haynesworth and Suggs i think we would be much improved defensivly. I also think we need to keep Chaun Thompson and move him outside and if Willie is still here try him inside because he can stop the run and still get after the QB a little.

I would think a lineman like Albert Haynesworth would be a top priority. He probably won't be available either. There's no question Suggs is a fine linebacker. But linebackers are eisier to find than a great d-lineman.
