Here's a little something for all of you Braylon Edwards haters.
Braylon, along with Cleveland Mayor Frank Jackson, is set to announce today that he's pledging $1 million towards college scholarships to local kids.
An excerpt from the AP report via ESPN.com:
-Edwards' foundation is choosing 100 eighth-graders from the city's 58,000-student district for the program, which will include mentoring and tutoring. The students will also volunteer for 15 hours of community service each year and will not be allowed unexcused absences, the Browns said in a statement.Doesn't sound like someone who wants to be on the first bus out of town to me. Obviously, he's doing a good thing with this program. We've seen several athletes who make much more money give much less to much needier people (i.e. Mike Vick giving $10K combined to the Va. Tech victim's families).
I hate to sound like "Munch" Bishop with this one, but I do expect his best year yet in 2007 for the Browns. It usually takes over a year to recover from that injury sustained in his rookie year. This will be the year we see the real Braylon Edwards.
