This Sunday the Brownies take on the St. Louis Rams and amazingly, Cleveland is a road favorite (-3) for the first time since what feels like the Reagan administration. How do we handle this sudden respect from the boys in Las Vegas? Should we bet the farm on a team that hasn't won back-to-back games in a few years? Let's think about this first...
It seems to me this year the Browns have suddenly become the Louisville Cardinals of the NFL. Every game they play seems as if it's being played on an Xbox by a couple kids who are jacked up on Mountain Dew. Sure, they are 4th in the NFL in scoring at 27.8 ppg, but they are also 30th in points allowed at 30.5 ppg.
Fortunately for the Browns, the Rams are also near the bottom of the NFL in points allowed at over 27 ppg. However, the Rams are dead last in league scoring with 11.3 ppg. With offensive fire power like that, it's no wonder they are 0-7 this year.
It's also no wonder that Rams starting tight end Randy McMichael chose the Browns to make his
guaranteed win prediction against. Week after week, the Browns have been getting burned by opposing tight ends. This patten obviously has McMichael thinking he can beat Browns defensive backs just as badly, if not worse,
than his spouse...pregnancy optional, of course. Dick.
With the state of the Rams' offensive line, I can't see them getting it done. Browns LB Kamerion Wimbley will have a big day on the fast indoor turf and have a big day. Expect Marc Bulger to resemble former Rams QB Jim...err Chris Everett's plummet from stardom to continue.
Speaking of Jim, here's the infamous/classic Jim Rome vs. Jim "Chris" Everett clip from ESPN2's "talk 2" show in honor of Rams week. Enjoy.
Prediction: Browns 37 - Rams 24
