11/07: Is Frye the Guy?

The crew welcomed John Taylor, Adam Caplan, Rich Passan and Joe Brownlee by phone as they tried to figure out whether Charlie Frye had a bad game or whether Frye will continue to progress as the Browns QB. Two hours of fast-paced Browns analysis awaits...

I AGREE WITH YOU, FRY MUST GO. HE HAS SHOWN US NOTHING. WE HAVE ONLY SEEN GLIMPSES OF HIS ABILITY. I REALLY BELIEVE THAT THE COACHING STAFF IS NOT 100% SOLD ON HIM EITHER FOR THE SIMPLE FACT THEY HAVEN'T OPENED UP THE OFFENSE AND LET HIM TAKE FULL REIGN AND MAKE PLAYS ON THE FLY LIKE BEN ROTHELISBERGER DID IN THE FOURTH QUARTER. IT SEEMS TO ME HE ONLY LOOKS FOR 2 GUYS K2 & BRAYLON EDWARDS. HE CAN'T READ A DEFENSE, THAT WAS OBVIOUS ON THE LAST DRIVE ON 3RD DOWN WHEN TROY P. WAS FOLLOWING THE TIGHTEND IN MOTION THEN STOPPED RIGHT OVER THE LEFT TACKLE THAT HE WAS COMING ON A OUTSIDE SAFTEY BLITZ THE PLAY SHOULD'VE BEEN CHANGED OR TIME OUT SHOULD'VE BEEN CALLED. NEITHER WAS DONE PITTSBURGH CAME WITH THE SAFTEY BLITZ AND FRY THREW THE BALL RIGHT AT HIM, THE BALL WAS BATTED DOWN BROWNS HAD TO PUNT AND THERE WAS YOUR BALL GAME. KOSAR USED TO DARE TEAMS TO BLITZ, IF CHARLIE STUDIES AS MUCH AS THEY HE DOES I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHAT THE HE'S LOOKING AT. THE MEDIA AND THE ORGANIZATION ARE MAKING WAY TO MANY EXCUSES FOR HIM AND HE STRUTS AROUND LIKE NOTHING IS HIS FAULT. THIS ORGANIZATION HAD THE QUARTERBACK IN TIM COUCH BUT DID NOTHING TO IMPROVE THE TEAM AROUND HIM FOR A GUY WHO HAD 11 COME FROM BEHIND VICTORIES ALMOST 12000 YARDS OVER 60 TDS, NEVER COMPLAIND ABOUT HIS POOR OFFENSIVE LINE HIS UNDERACHIEVING RECEIVERS ABSOLUTLY NO RUNNING GAME, HE WAS RUN OUT OF TOWN VERY QUICKLY. IMAGINE TIM WITH THIS OFFENSE, ONE THING IS FOR SURE WE WOULD NOT BE 3-7 WE WOULD BE TALKING ABOUT A BIG GAME WITH THE BENGALS AND PLAYOFFS, NOT WHO WE SHOULD TKE IN THE FIRST ROUND OF THE DRAFT. BOTTOM LINE, THERE IS A LOT OF TALENT ON THE OFFENSE YET IT IS PAINFUL TO WATCH BECAUSE THE MOST IMPORTANT PART OF IT LACKS ABILITY. IT LOOKS LIKE WE WILL BE STARTING OVER AGAIN IN 2007 WHAT A SHAME. THE SAD THING IS AS YEARS PASS WE WILL START LOSING OUR STARS BECAUSE THEY WANT TO WIN.
