OBR Radio Program

July 2007 - Posts

  • 07/26: Signings and Phone Fun

The OBR broke the news this evening at the top of the program that Eric Wright had signed a deal, and the fun continued throughout the two hours. Jeff Schudel was back in studio as the final hours to training camp ticked down. Football is back!!

  • 07/19: The Dork Flies Alone

Flying solo in the palatial studios, Barry held the fort for the final week prior to the beginning of training camp, with the help of NFL scout Tom Marino and OBR reporter Fred Greetham, who checked in via the phone. In between tales of seventh-round pick signings and backed-up Cleveland Browns Stadium toilets, came the news that the radio will start broadcasting live from Shula's Steak 2 in Independence starting this August. Kudos to Shula's Steak for stepping up to sponsor the program!!
  • You Heard Right: The OBR on ESPN

I had a very good experience on Saturday night talking to Ryen Russilo and Amy Lawrence on ESPN Gamenight. We talked about the Browns quarterback battle, players coming back from injury, RAC's future and other assorted topics. Nice folks, and they were pros who managed to keep me from screwing up on nationally syndicated radio. The MP3 file is attached.

  • 07/12: Countdown to Camp Continues

Alliteration is sort of weenish, but, I can't help myself. Barry and Jeff were back at it tonight, talking Browns with fans as well as author Andy Paiscek, who discussed his book "The Best Show in Football: The 1946-1955 Cleveland Browns".  Lots of talk about about the Browns past, present and immediate future, as the gang pondered open questions heading into training camp.

  • 06/28: Family Funzone OBR Radio Show!

Giving those guys from the NBA the vicious backhand they deserve for scheduling the NBA draft against another OBR Radio Program, Fred Greetham and Adam Caplan joined Barry to talk Cleveland Browns on a late June Thursday evening. I'm actually kinda proud of this broadcast. There wasn't a lot of Browns or NFL news to talk about, but I felt the program stayed on-topic and still moved pretty well. Check out Adam's call about 80 minutes into the program for some insight on Brady Quinn and how he is perceived around the league.
