OBR Radio Program

At long last, the OBR radio podcast has returned! The OBR is now workign with Talkshoe.com to provide Browns fans with a steady stream of radio goodness. We don't have a regularly scheduled interactive show yet, but we're back to doing podcasts and will be uploading interviews and other goodies.

The gang gathered under cold, dark skies of Cleveland in December, and burst into the cozy confines of the palatial studio to talk Cleveland Browns football as the team began its preparations for their biggest game of the year. So, naturally, our first two callers were from sunny Florida, but nicely refrained from tormenting us all with their pleasant weather. Another nice night of conversation about our favorite team as we bask in the glow of a winning season...

As opposed to the Cleveland Browns last game against the Arizona Cardinals, the OBR radio program is a slick, mistake-free, flawless operation. It's really sort a fine cut diamond... a crystalline jewel that stands out among all the Browns-related drivel which is spewed forth over the broadcast radio this time of year. Like a diamond, you can see right through it... sort of like you can see through this stupid paragraph of pimpage. So, ignore this, and just listen, I guess. 

We would like to dedicate our 11/29 radio program to a rabid, venom-spewing Jerry Jones, taking on those evil cable companies for the good of all of us fans everywhere. Despite his tireless efforts, we weren't able to bring in the Cowboys-Packers game in the palatial studio, so we wound up talking about the Cleveland Browns and VH-1's thrilling countdown of TV's Greatest Child Stars. (Tina Yothers was #47 on the list. 47! It's nuts!).

Barry and Jeff returned to the palatial studio, dodging the horrific sleet and nastiness of Cleveland weather, despite the risk that Rich Passan would call them from Arizona to taunt them about the wonders of low-humidity southwestern climes. Putting that possibility aside and forging on, Barry and Jeff talked about the Pittsburgh game, looked forward to Baltimore, pondered a rumor from the NFL Network and talked to some old friends via the phone.

I'm not sure whether to call this the "WTF... we have a winning record?" edition or the "Son of Webdork Flies Alone" edition of the OBR radio program. Just call it "thrilling". Or "action-packed". Or perhaps the Global Circumnavigation Edition, since Barry had to rapidly move from Independence to Cleveland to start the show as the phone lines didn't work from Shula's. Thrills galore! In any event, Barry held down the fort in the palatial studio and talked about the Browns win over the Rams, the upcoming battle against the Seahawks, and the Browns continuing Grady-less status. Check it out, if only to hear a flailing webdork sounds like without his ultra-knowledgeable compadres.

Jeff and Barry entered the STC studios, crazily thinking that it would be nice to talk to listeners and get a bunch of emails. Fools! Turns out that the website was down and no one was listening, at least for the first hour and a half of the show. It's nuts! So, they talked to themselves and answered questions from Ask the Insiders for the enjoyment of podcast downloaders. When the site came back up, Adam Caplan joined the show to talk about Grady Jackson, run defense, and more of the key questions Browns fans want answered... 

Lane Adkins was at the Q this afternoon as Bernie Kosar and Jim Ferraro announced Cleveland's newest football team: the Cleveland Gladiators. Here is an audio file of the press conference.

The Browns lost to the New England Patriots, but didn't look worse than other Pats opponents have looked, leading most observers to conclude that the team has become semi-respectable. Barry and Lane were at Shula's Steak again this Thursday night discussing the phenomenon. Thanks to the folks, including "Mike from Pittsburgh" who dropped by on Thursday! 

Barry, Jeff, and Fred kicked it at Shula's Steak 2 in Independence again this week, and the gang went over the Browns surprisingly easy 27-13 victory over the Baltimore Ravens. Listen in as the crazies at Shula's cheered the Tribe over the Yankees and the OBR gang answered questions from email, the chat room, and Ask the Insiders!

 

Barry, Jeff, and Lane were resplendent (yeah) again at Shula's Steak 2 in Independence, as they talked about the loss to the Oakland Raiders and the upcoming contest with the Baltimore Ravens. You want pure unfiltered football analysis that tells it the way it is? This is the show to listen to. We had a lot of fun last night doing this one, and hope you enjoy it.

Barry, Fred, and Lane pondered the eternal question of last Sunday: "What the heck was that? And where can we get more of it?". The gang dissected the Browns amazing 51-45 victory over the Bengals as well as looking at some of the questions about the team which remain, and whether Chad Johnson got enough beer poured on him.
