While growing up as a young kid in Brooklyn NY and thanks to my Dad, I got to see Jim Brown play a few times at Syracuse and that's how I became a fan of the game of football. Couple years later I happened to find a NFL game on my little Lone Ranger Radio and it was a game coming from Cleveland. The excitement of the announcer and fan noise had me spellbound ...it was all about the plays of Jim Brown. I begged my Dad to take me to a Browns game and used the additional excuse of visiting relatives in the Cleveland area ...and with a little help from my mother...he finally agreed. My dad was a former football player at Syracuse and was a huge Syracuse and college football fan but he really didn't pay that much attention to professional ball.
I got my game-wish and from that incredible 27-10 game-day win against Pittsburgh ...I was hooked forever on my Cleveland Browns.
Jim Brown the football player, will always be very special to me for he inspired the passion that I have today for this team. I have a collection of Jim Brown imagery and will post one or two now and then here.
